2026 MOBO Awards: Ayra Starr Bags Two Nominations as Wizkid, Davido, Others Make List
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has secured two nominations at the 2026 MOBO Awards, earning recognition in the Best African Music Act and Best International Act categories.
Starr, who made history last year as the first African woman to win both categories simultaneously, will face strong competition once again as organisers unveiled the full list of nominees on Thursday.
Several other Nigerian artists also received nominations. Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Rema and Shallipopi all made the list with one nomination each, further highlighting Nigeria’s strong presence at the awards.
The 2026 MOBO Awards will mark the organisation’s 30th anniversary and are scheduled to hold on March 26, 2026, at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester. The nominations feature dozens of artists drawn from across four continents, reflecting the global reach of contemporary music.
Ayra Starr appears in both the Best African Act category alongside Davido, Rema, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Shallipopi and others, as well as the Best International Act category, where she will compete with global stars including Cardi B, Gunna, Kehlani, Tyla and Vybz Kartel.
The awards ceremony is expected to attract major attention as African and international artists vie for honours across multiple genres and categories.
