China Defence Chief Warns Countries Against Provocative Actions
Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun has warned countries against provocative actions, calling for greater cooperation to manage international tensions.
Dong made the remarks while opening the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, where he also spoke against militarism, hegemony and attempts to rewrite history.
His comments come as tensions remain high over Taiwan and the disputed South China Sea. However, Dong did not directly mention the United States or Japan in his speech.
The three-day forum brings together military officials, diplomats and scholars from several countries to discuss security and military cooperation.
Dong has also held meetings with defence officials from Myanmar, Brunei, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, as well as the Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Kao Kim Hourn.
