National Orientation Agency Tasks PR Practitioners on National Identity Campaign

September 16, 2025

Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations to take the lead in promoting national identity and values. Speaking at the monthly meeting of the FCT chapter of NIPR in Abuja, Issa-Onilu stressed that Nigeria must evolve from being a mere geographical entity to a true nation built on shared values.

He revealed that the agency, in collaboration with NIPR, is working to define and promote the Nigerian identity ahead of the planned launch of the Nigeria Identity Project by President Bola Tinubu. The initiative, he noted, will be anchored on a National Values Charter to drive campaigns that reflect the values and aspirations of Nigerians.
