Nigeria and Angola Revive Bilateral Joint Economic Commission After 24 Years

Nigeria and Angola have revived their Bilateral Joint Economic Commission after 24 years during a three-day meeting in Luanda, resulting in key agreements including the twinning of Bayelsa State with Angola’s Namibe province and Nasarawa State with Bengo province. The accords focus on economic, cultural, and environmental cooperation aimed at boosting development and strengthening ties between the two oil-producing nations.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Ojukwu highlighted the historic nature of the renewed partnership, emphasizing its potential to enhance economic growth, job creation, and poverty reduction. Both countries committed to implementing 28 memoranda of understanding to deepen collaboration in various sectors, reflecting a shared resolve to advance their long-standing diplomatic and economic relationship.
