EFCC, ICPC Probe N12bn NFF Intervention Fund

August 21, 2026

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, are investigating the use of N12 billion released by the Federal Government to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for the payment of outstanding wages, allowances and bonuses owed to national team players and coaches.

Some NFF officials linked to the fund have reportedly been invited by the anti-graft agencies and questioned over its utilisation. The NFF has also declined a request for financial records relating to the fund, citing the ongoing investigations by the EFCC and ICPC.
