Kroos Warns Alonso Titles Key to Survival at Real Madrid

Former Germany international Toni Kroos has cautioned new Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso that his decorated playing career will not shield him from pressure if he fails to deliver silverware at the Bernabéu.
Alonso, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti this summer after Madrid endured a trophyless campaign, has been tasked with restoring the club’s winning edge. Kroos, now retired for over a year, said Alonso must quickly impress the club’s hierarchy with results and titles, stressing that Los Blancos’ standards remain uncompromising.
The ex-midfielder, however, expressed optimism that Madrid’s quality squad would bounce back this season. He also praised new defensive signing Dean Huijsen, describing the youngster as a complete centre-back with strength, speed, and impressive ball distribution.
