Kwara Government, PDP Disagree Over Removal Of Campaign Billboards
The Kwara State Government and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have disagreed over the removal of campaign billboards belonging to the party’s governorship candidate, Suleiman Bolakale Kawu, in Ilorin.
The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency, KWASAA, said the removals were part of its enforcement of signage regulations and were not targeted at any political party. The PDP, however, disagreed with the explanation and questioned the circumstances surrounding the removal of Kawu’s billboards at Agaka, Adabata Junction and the Geri Alimi Underpass as the party called for compliance with applicable rules while asking that political parties be allowed to carry out lawful campaign activities while the agency maintained that enforcement of signage regulations would continue across the metropolis and urged political parties and candidates to comply with the rules governing campaign materials.
