Super Falcons Crash Out of WAFCON After Cameroon Defeat
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been eliminated from the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after losing 1-0 to Cameroon in the quarter-finals.Myriam Maéva Nyadjou Wamen scored the only goal of the match with a stunning free-kick in the 19th minute. Despite creating opportunities and pushing for an equaliser, Nigeria could not find the net before the final whistle. The defeat ends the Super Falcons’ hopes of defending the WAFCON title they won in Morocco. Nigeria will face South Africa on Thursday in Casablanca, with a place in the Inter-Confederation playoff tournament at stake.
