CNN, MS NOW, Politico Sue Trump Administration Over White House Press Ban

CNN, MS NOW and Politico have sued the administration of United States President Donald Trump over the revocation of their White House press access. The media organizations filed the case at the US District Court for the District of Columbia, seeking the restoration of access for their journalists and protection of their First Amendment rights.

The lawsuit followed Trump’s decision to bar the three outlets from the White House after accusing them of publishing false reports about him and his administration as reporters from the organizations were turned away from the White House on Saturday, with their press credentials confiscated. The media groups argue that the credentials were revoked without notice or due process, and are asking the court to intervene. Reuters reports that emergency proceedings could begin as early as this week.
