Edo State Government awards scholarships to Gen Braimah’s children
The Edo State Government has approved full educational scholarships for the three children of the late Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who died in active service.
Governor Monday Okpebholo granted the approval, stating that the scholarship will cover the children’s education from their current levels through to university.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Akhere, the governor described the gesture as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to honouring fallen military personnel and supporting their families.
Okpebholo said the late Brigadier-General made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, adding that it was only right for the government to ensure his children have uninterrupted access to education.
The beneficiaries include Farida Hussain-Braimah, a university student; Amir Hussain-Braimah, a secondary school student; and Yasmeen Hussain-Braimah, a junior secondary school pupil.
The governor reaffirmed that the state would continue to support the children throughout their academic journey, noting that the initiative aligns with his administration’s focus on human capital development and social welfare.
Brigadier-General Braimah was killed during a террорист attack on military positions in Benisheikh, Borno State, while participating in counter-insurgency operations.
