Super Falcons Thrash Egypt 6-2 to Reach WAFCON Quarter-finals
The Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Egypt 6-2 in Casablanca on Wednesday. Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Gift Monday added a second just before half-time, while Egypt pulled one back through Nadine Ghazi. Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe and captain Rashidat Ajibade extended Nigeria’s lead in the second half before Joy Omewa completed the rout in stoppage time. The victory secured Nigeria’s place in the last eight, although Malawi finished top of Group C.
