Kwara Deputy Governor, NOA Urge Pilgrims to Be Exemplary Ambassadors in Holy Land
Ilorin, Kwara State – The Kwara State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged Christian pilgrims preparing for the 2025 Holy Pilgrimage to uphold discipline, integrity, and responsible citizenship throughout their journey.
The appeal was made on Wednesday during a pilgrimage seminar organized by the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board. NOA State Director Abdulganiy Dare, represented by Joseph Inawole, emphasized that the pilgrimage is not only a spiritual exercise but also a test of character and national responsibility.
“You are representing your families, churches, Kwara, Nigeria, and the Christian faith in your host countries,” he told the pilgrims
Mr. Dare further highlighted the importance of adhering to the National Values Charter, which promotes discipline, integrity, respect for authority, tolerance, patriotism, and social harmony. He warned that misconduct, including absconding, overstaying, or disobedience, could tarnish Nigeria’s image and jeopardize future pilgrimage arrangements.
Echoing these sentiments, Kwara State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi urged pilgrims to comport themselves with decorum and serve as good ambassadors for the state and the nation. Similarly, the Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Timothy Opoola, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support and called on pilgrims to strictly follow guidelines and avoid absconding.
