NECO Releases 2025 SSCE Results, 71 Percent Pass Rate Recorded
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 November/December Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for private candidates, recording a 71.6 percent pass rate for five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
Out of 96,979 registered candidates, 95,160 sat for the exams, with 68,166 obtaining the required five credits, while 82,082 secured five credits regardless of English and Mathematics, as English saw a 78.3 percent credit pass rate, and Mathematics had 91.4 percent of candidates achieving at least a credit. NECO also reported a rise in examination malpractice, with 9,016 candidates booked, a 31.7 percent increase from 2024, leading to recommendations for blacklisting five supervisors and de-recognition of four examination centres.
