Ogun @ 50: Abiodun Declares February 3 Public Holiday
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has declared Tuesday, February 3, 2026, a public holiday across the state to mark the 50th anniversary of its creation.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, who said the holiday would allow residents to fully participate in activities lined up for the Golden Jubilee celebrations as The state government said the anniversary marks five decades of Ogun State’s political existence, steady growth and contributions to national development, urging residents to celebrate the milestone in unity and peace. It reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building on past achievements and accelerating development for the benefit of all citizens.
