National Assembly Confirms Odo as Senate Clerk, Sidi as Acting House Clerk

The National Assembly Service Commission has confirmed Emmanuel Odo as the Clerk of the Senate and appointed Ibrahim Sidi as Acting Clerk of the House of Representatives. The decisions were made during the Commission’s 19th meeting on Monday, January 20, 2026, which also approved the redeployment of several officers to other consolidated positions.

Odo, who had served as Acting Clerk of the Senate since September 16, 2025, assumes the full role, while Sidi, previously Director of Administration in the National Assembly, will take over from Yahaya Danzaria, who retires on February 8, 2026. Sidi’s appointment takes effect on February 9, 2026.
