NOA Calls on Movie Producers to Use Film for Promoting National Values, Identity

December 3, 2025

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) to use the influence of film to promote Nigerian values, cultural heritage, and a stronger sense of national identity, while also projecting the country positively to international audiences.

Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, appealed when he received a delegation from the FCT Chapter of AMP. He said the creative industry remains central to shaping public perception, influencing social behavior, and strengthening national unity.

According to him, films hold the power to inspire, educate, and reshape societal narratives, making them an effective tool for value reorientation and national development.

Issa-Onilu disclosed that the NOA is set to collaborate with major stakeholders in the film industry to integrate its core national messages into movie productions. He referenced the nationalisation of cartoon content earlier approved by the Federal Executive Council as an example of the government’s commitment to cultural preservation and identity reinforcement.
