Burna Boy Makes Grammy History with Fifth Album Nomination

Award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has become the first Nigerian artist to receive five career nominations in the album categories at the Grammy Awards. His 2025 album No Sign of Weakness earned a nod for Best Global Music Album, competing alongside works by Youssou N’Dour, Anoushka Shankar, Shakti, Siddhant Bhatia, and Brazilian icons Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.

Burna Boy’s previous album nominations include African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), and I Told Them (2023), cementing his position as a global music powerhouse.

He also received a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for his track Love, with fellow Nigerian stars Davido, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid, among others, also recognized. Winners will be announced on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena
