Nollywood Icon Joke Silva Celebrated at 64

Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, was on Monday celebrated by fans, colleagues, and admirers as she marked her 64th birthday. Tributes poured in across social media, praising her elegance, talent, and enduring impact on the Nigerian film industry.
Silva, in a heartfelt Instagram post, expressed gratitude to God for His mercy, faithfulness, protection, provision, and the gift of family, friends, and colleagues. Her message drew warm reactions from notable figures, including media entrepreneur Mo Abudu and actress Shan George, who joined thousands of fans in wishing her continued health, wealth, and success.
With a career spanning decades, Silva has featured in numerous productions in both English and Yoruba, earning critical acclaim and multiple awards. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2006 and has received international recognition for her performances, notably starring alongside Colin Firth in the 1998 film The Secret Laughter of Women.
Beyond acting, Silva has contributed to advocacy and national development.
