FG Unveils Theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government has announced the official theme for the 2025 Independence Anniversary, tagged “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism across the public and private sectors, civil society, and the citizenry in driving national peace, prosperity, and progress.
It noted that since independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has weathered challenges and recorded progress in key economic sectors, stressing the need for collective efforts to consolidate these gains and achieve greater national objectives in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Government agencies have been directed to align anniversary activities with the official theme. Events to mark the 65th Independence Anniversary include a Juma’at prayer on Friday, September 26, an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28, and a world press conference on Monday, September 29.
