NCAA Suspends 10 Private Jet Operations for Non-Compliance
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the operations of 10 private jet companies for failing to initiate the recertification process.
According to a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Michael Achimugu, the decision was made due to disregard for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations.
The NCAA highlighted that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 Part 18.3.4 prohibits holders of Permits for Non-Commercial Flights (PNCF) from using their aircraft for commercial operations, such as the carriage of passengers, cargo, or mail for hire or reward.
“Due to flagrant disregard of this rule, the NCAA had earlier directed all holders of PNCF to undergo re-evaluation, which should have been concluded by April 19, 2024,” Achimugu stated.
Consequently, the NCAA has suspended the PNCF of the following companies:
Azikel Dredging Nigeria Ltd
Bli-Aviation Safety Services
Ferry Aviation Developments Ltd
Matrix Energy Ltd
Marrietta Management Services Ltd
Worldwide Skypaths Services
Mattini Airline Services Ltd
Aero Lead Ltd
Sky Bird Air Ltd
Ezuma Jets Ltd
The NCAA warned the public against engaging PNCF holders for commercial purposes, reiterating that it is illegal and that the agency will not hesitate to enforce actions against any PNCF holder found guilty of illegal operations.
To ensure compliance, the NCAA has deployed its officials to General Aviation Terminals and private wings of airports to monitor the activities of PNCF holders.
