Kwara United Confident Ahead of CAF Confederation Cup Tie with Asante Kotoko

Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni, has expressed optimism about his side’s chances as they prepare to face Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko in the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.
The Harmony Boys qualified for the competition after winning last season’s President’s Federation Cup. They head into the continental fixture following a goalless away draw against newly-promoted Warri Wolves in an NPFL matchday four encounter, which left them 12th on the table with five points from four matches.
Sanni described the result as a timely boost for his squad, adding that it provided a good test ahead of the clash with their regional rivals.
The Ilorin-based side will be aiming to progress to the next round and eventually reach the group stage of the tournament. The first leg will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 21, while the return fixture is scheduled for September 28 in Ilorin.
