Colorado High School Shooting: Suspect Dead, Two Students Injured

Police in Colorado have confirmed that the suspect in a shooting at Evergreen High School, near Denver, died from self-inflicted injuries. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. local time (18:30 GMT), leaving two students injured. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. They were initially reported to be in critical condition but later said to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Their identities have not been released.
Authorities identified the suspect as a male student at the school who used a revolver during the attack. Investigators said shots were fired at multiple locations inside and outside the school premises. Responding officers did not engage the suspect with gunfire.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting local police in the investigation. Detectives are examining the suspect’s residence, vehicle, and school locker as part of efforts to determine the motive.
The school shooting occurred less than half an hour after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed in a separate shooting at a university event in neighbouring Utah.
