NOA Felicitates Muslims on Eid-ul-Maulud, Calls for Unity, Peace

September 5, 2025

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has congratulated Muslims across the country on the celebration of Eid-ul-Maulud, urging Nigerians to embrace unity, peace, and development.

In a statement, the Director-General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, described the birth of Prophet Muhammad as a reminder of his exemplary life and teachings, which serve as a guide for peaceful and upright living as he encouraged Muslims to emulate the Prophet’s values of forgiveness, compassion, and tolerance, stressing that such virtues are essential for building a united and progressive nation. He noted that unity among citizens remains a critical tool in addressing insecurity. According to him, when Nigerians work together and support security agencies, the country stands a better chance of defeating violence and restoring lasting stability.

“The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) embodied unity, peace, and compassion. Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, should draw lessons from his life by fostering tolerance and promoting national cohesion,” the statement read.

The DG also offered prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria, while asking for wisdom and strength for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he leads the country on the path of growth and development.
