Kwara Judiciary Workers Suspend Strike After Government’s Salary Structure Assurance

August 28, 2025

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kwara State chapter, has suspended its three-day strike following assurances from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to implement the Consolidated Judicial Salary Structure (CONJUSS) beginning September 2025. The union said the industrial action was triggered by delays in reviewing salaries and allowances, but after negotiations involving the Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Adebara, and other key stakeholders, an agreement was reached to meet their demands.

JUSUN noted that the strike suspension is conditional and pledged to closely monitor the implementation to ensure all judiciary workers benefit. The state government also assured workers that no member would face victimisation for participating in the strike. The union directed members across the state to resume work on Thursday, August 28, while commending the interventions of the NLC, TUC, JNC, and other stakeholders in resolving the dispute.
