Fagbemi Pushes Justice Ministry to Align with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, has called on departments and units of the Federal Ministry of Justice to align their priorities with digital transformation frameworks, including the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025, the National Policy on Justice, and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at a top management retreat in Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Fagbemi stressed that technology-driven solutions are essential to address challenges such as overcrowded correctional facilities, delays in trials, and limited access to justice. He noted that the ministry must lead in adopting digital tools for efficient service delivery and effective justice sector reforms. Declaring the retreat open, Governor Umo Eno commended the minister’s reform efforts, highlighting Akwa Ibom’s embrace of e-governance through the creation of a Ministry of Science and Digital Economy and the development of digital case management systems. In her remarks, Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Beatrice Jeddy-Agba, said the retreat was designed to build capacity in electronic content management, digital case handling, and the integration of artificial intelligence into legal processes.
