JAMB Uncovers 3,000 Fake Graduates

July 4, 2024

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has made a startling revelation, uncovering over 3,000 individuals who falsely claimed to be university graduates without ever having attended a university.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this alarming finding during a meeting with the leadership of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities (COPSUN).

He attributed the existence of these fake graduates to endemic corruption within the education system.

Prof. Oloyede emphasized that these cases have been thoroughly documented and that JAMB is actively working to tackle the issue of illegal admissions in tertiary institutions.

He described the situation as an “embarrassment and disservice to the nation,” calling for immediate action to rectify the problem.

“This discovery underscores the urgent need for increased vigilance and accountability in the education sector to prevent fraudulent activities and ensure the integrity of university degrees,” Prof. Oloyede stated.
