Kwara Independent Electoral Commission Extends Deadline for Party Primaries to Thursday
In response to multiple appeals from political parties seeking more time to conduct their primaries, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) has extended the deadline for the exercise to Thursday, July 4, 2024.
The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, when releasing the schedule of events ahead of the upcoming Local government polls set Sunday, June 30, 2024, for party primaries.
In an official statement released on June 26, 2024, KWSIEC Chairman Muhammed Baba Okanla announced the extension, emphasizing the commission’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and inclusive electoral process.
“Further adjustments to other activities, if any, will be communicated to the public as may become necessary,” the statement read.
This extension aims to accommodate the logistical needs of political parties and ensure that the primaries are conducted in a fair and organized manner.
