US Congressman Opposes Removal of Nigeria’s Religious Freedom Watchlist Status
United States Congressman Riley Moore has opposed any move by the United States Department of State to remove Nigeria’s designation as a Country of Particular Concern over attacks on Christians. Moore, a Republican from West Virginia, made the position known on Tuesday following the killing of at least 24 people in an attack on the Bin-Per community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. He said continued attacks in the Middle Belt showed that the security situation facing Christian communities remained serious.
