The Nigerian Army has stepped up security operations along the Sokoto-Kebbi border following renewed threats linked to the Lakurawa terrorist group. The assurance was given by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Major General Bemgha Paul Koughna, during an operational assessment visit to Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State. He said the Army would respond swiftly to emerging threats and prevent terrorists from establishing safe havens in border communities, while urging residents to remain calm and provide security agencies with credible information on suspicious activities.
