NOA DG Urges Osun Voters to Cast Ballots Without Fear
The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged eligible voters in Osun State to come out and exercise their constitutional right to vote in Saturday’s governorship election without fear or intimidation.
Issa-Onilu called on voters to remain peaceful and responsible before, during and after the election, warning against actions that could provoke violence.
He also appealed to political parties, candidates, supporters and other stakeholders to put the interest of Osun State above partisan considerations and encourage their supporters to obey electoral rules.
The NOA boss urged voters to cast their ballots according to their conscience, avoid confrontation at polling units and leave peacefully after voting while allowing electoral officials to carry out their duties.
He advised citizens to channel any electoral grievances through the appropriate legal and institutional processes rather than resorting to violence.
Issa-Onilu further called on traditional and religious leaders, youth and women groups, civil society organisations and other community influencers to continue promoting peace and responsible citizenship throughout the election.
He assured residents that the NOA would continue to provide civic and voter education across the state and support peaceful democratic participation.
The Director-General reminded voters that regardless of the outcome of the election, residents would remain neighbours, friends and citizens of the same state, urging them to protect the peace and allow the will of the people to prevail.
