PSG Retain UEFA Super Cup After Victory Over Aston Villa

August 13, 2026

Paris Saint-Germain retained the UEFA Super Cup after defeating Aston Villa 2-1 in Salzburg on Wednesday. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put PSG ahead in the 20th minute before 17-year-old Brian Madjo equalised shortly before half-time to become the youngest scorer in the competition’s history. Désiré Doué restored PSG’s lead in the 61st minute after VAR overturned an initial offside decision, with the French champions holding on despite late pressure from Villa. The victory gives PSG their second successive UEFA Super Cup title, following last year’s win over Tottenham, and adds to their recent run of success that includes back-to-back Champions League titles.
