Katsina United Defender Chinedu Ozor Dies After Collapsing During Pre-Season Match

Katsina United defender Chinedu Ozor has reportedly died after collapsing during a pre-season friendly against Niger Tornadoes at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Tuesday. The 30-year-old reportedly collapsed about 10 to 13 minutes into the match, prompting immediate efforts by the club’s medical team to revive him. He was later rushed to a hospital for further treatment but was reportedly pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Ozor had only recently joined Katsina United during the ongoing transfer window, having previously played for Kano Pillars, Heartland United and Lobi Stars. His sudden death has left his teammates, club officials and supporters in mourning, although the exact cause of his death has not yet been officially disclosed.
