Court Dismisses NDC Suit Against Electoral Act

The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a suit filed by the National Democratic Congress challenging provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 on candidates’ qualification and disqualification for elective offices. Justice Muhammed Umar ruled that the disputed sections of the law were consistent with the 1999 Constitution and that the suit lacked merit.
