Kwara Commissioner Encourages Youths to Embrace Skills Acquisition
Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Ambassador Ndanusa Usman Shehu, has called on young people in the state to acquire practical skills and take advantage of available empowerment opportunities to improve their livelihoods.
Speaking on a radio programme in Ilorin, Ndanusa praised the state government’s youth-focused initiatives, saying they provide platforms for young people to develop and become self-reliant.
The commissioner also sensitised youths on the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme, an initiative of the Federal Government supported by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme. He said the programme provides graduates with paid work experience, mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Ndanusa encouraged youths to combine academic qualifications with skills in entrepreneurship, digital technology, and vocational trades, noting that practical knowledge is important for economic independence and national development.
