Kwara NSCDC Deploys 2,280 Personnel to Ensure Safe Easter Celebrations
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,280 personnel across all 16 local government areas to maintain security during the Easter festivities.
Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga said the deployment aims to prevent disturbances and curb criminal activities during the celebrations.
According to the command’s spokesman, Ayoola Michael Shola, officers will maintain a visible presence at churches, recreational centers, motor parks, shopping complexes, and other strategic locations. Surveillance and patrol operations have been intensified in both urban and rural areas, with rapid response units on standby to address any emerging threats.
Commandant Bodinga directed officers to act decisively against individuals attempting to vandalize national assets or disrupt public order. He warned that anyone found engaging in criminal acts during the Easter period would be apprehended and prosecuted.
He also extended Easter greetings to Christians and urged residents to embrace the season’s values of love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence, while cooperating with security agencies to ensure a safe and tranquil celebration.
