Police Arrest Three Suspected Kidnappers in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers during a coordinated operation in the Fufore Local Government Area of the state.
The arrests followed a raid carried out on February 10, 2026, after intelligence reports and directives from the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, to intensify efforts against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.
Police operatives, working alongside members of the Miyetti Allah security group, stormed a suspected kidnapper’s hideout in Jera village, Malabu District, where the suspects were apprehended.
The arrested suspects were identified as Lawali Haruna (45), Yahaya Ibrahim (25), and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu (28), all residents of Jera village.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the arrests were linked to the abduction of Alhaji Ahmadu, who was kidnapped in Malabu on January 30, 2026. Police confirmed that one of the suspects is the biological son of the victim.
According to the statement, the suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unharmed and to arrest other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police commended the cooperation between the police and local security groups and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support crime-fighting efforts in the state. The suspects will remain in custody while investigations continue
