Sergio Busquets to Retire at End of MLS Season, Inter Miami Confirms

Inter Miami confirmed on Thursday that veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets will retire at the end of the current MLS season. The 37-year-old former Spain and Barcelona star enjoyed a decorated career, winning nine La Liga titles, three Champions League trophies, and earning 143 international caps, including triumphs at the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012. Busquets joined Miami in 2023, reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suárez, and added a Leagues Cup and Supporters’ Shield to his honors. In a farewell video, he said it was time to close the chapter on a career he had always dreamed of.
