Security Restrictions Imposed in Ladakh Following Deadly Clashes Over Autonomy Demands

Authorities in India enforced strict security measures in Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil districts after violent protests left four people dead and dozens injured during demonstrations demanding greater autonomy for the Himalayan region. The restrictions banned gatherings of more than five people, with heavy police and paramilitary presence as shops remained closed.
