Ouattara Wins Fourth Term in Ivory Coast Presidential Election
Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara has secured a fourth term with 89.77% of the vote, according to provisional results from the Independent Electoral Commission. The 83-year-old faced minor opposition after key contenders were barred, with former trade minister Jean-Louis Billon finishing second with 3%. Voter turnout was around 50%, particularly low in urban areas, contributing to a relatively peaceful election.
