National Association of Nigerian Students Denounces Alleged Plans to Protest EFCC

July 4, 2024

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has disavowed any involvement in purported plans by certain groups to organize protests against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC has recently raised concerns about a clandestine group allegedly mobilizing on social media to orchestrate protests against the Commission.

In response, Lucky Emonefe, the president of National Association of Nigerian Students( NANS), issued a statement on Thursday condemning these actions by unnamed entities attempting to exploit students.

He further expressed apprehension over reports of student recruitment for disruptive purposes, and cautioned students to remain vigilant and not become tools in the hands of corrupt forces aiming to undermine the EFCC’s strides in national development.
