Rapinoe Criticizes U.S. 2026 World Cup Slogan
Former U.S. women’s national soccer team star Megan Rapinoe has criticized the United States’ campaign slogan for the 2026 World Cup, saying it may send the wrong message about the team’s confidence.
Rapinoe expressed concern that the slogan, “Never Chase Reality,” could imply self-doubt rather than ambition, suggesting that a more positive message like “Dream Big” would have been preferable.
The slogan was launched by U.S. Soccer in a promotional film narrated by actor Marcello Hernandez, who described it as a message about pursuing dreams and overcoming the odds, framed as part of the broader American dream.
Rapinoe’s criticism underscores debates over campaign messaging as the U.S. prepares to host the World Cup in 2026.
