Gabon Coach Mouyouma Declares Team Ready for Super Eagles Showdown
Gabon head coach Thierry Mouyouma has expressed confidence ahead of his side’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s semi-final fixture, Mouyouma said the Panthers are fully prepared and determined to continue their quest for a maiden World Cup appearance. He noted that the team’s strong run in the qualifiers—where they lost only once in ten games—has boosted their belief.
“This playoff is a turning point for us as it could open the door to the World Cup,” the coach said on his official X handle. “Our dream to reach the World Cup is still alive, and we will do everything to make it happen.”
The winner of the Gabon-Nigeria tie will face either the Democratic Republic of Congo or Cameroon in the final stage of the playoffs.
