Ukraine submits peace proposals to U.S. negotiators
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday said that Kyiv had submitted proposals to U.S. negotiators outlining a possible plan to end the war with Russia.Zelenskiy also suggested that Moscow could use next month’s parliamentary election as a pretext for launching a new mobilisation.Peace efforts have largely stalled since the outbreak of the conflict with Iran, with Ukraine continuing to push for a ceasefire after nearly four and a half years of fighting.“We have conveyed our proposals to the American side,” Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address.He said U.S. negotiators were expected to visit both Russia and Ukraine soon and added that Washington could help strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities.Zelensky did not disclose details of the proposals.
