Two Killed in Ikorodu-Ogijo Sagamu Expressway Accident
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the death of two individuals following a road accident on the Ikorodu-Ogijo Sagamu Expressway.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday at approximately 5:30 pm and involved a silver Toyota Camry, bearing the registration number EPE602JD, and a yellow Mercedes Benz Truck with registration number AA938YE.
The Public Education Officer of the Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, revealed in a statement to journalists that three male adults were involved in the crash.
Tragically, two of them lost their lives, while the third passenger emerged unscathed. The deceased have since been handed over to their respective families.
According to Okpe, the primary cause of the accident was attributed to a loss of control due to speeding.
In light of the incident, the FRSC Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga, extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families. He also issued a stern reminder to motorists about the dangers of speeding and emphasized the importance of maintaining full attention while driving.
Uga further urged truck owners to install speed limit devices on their vehicles to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
