Trump Threatens Legal Action Against Grammy Host Trevor Noah

February 2, 2026

United States President Donald Trump has threatened to sue Trevor Noah, the host of the 68th Grammy Awards, following comments made during the ceremony referencing Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Noah made a joke linking Trump’s interest in Greenland with Epstein, prompting a strong reaction from the president. Trump criticized the Grammy Awards as unwatchable and described Noah as a “total loser,” stating that he will send lawyers to pursue legal action.

The controversy comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of Trump’s past association with Epstein and newly released documents naming several high-profile figures connected to the financier, including Trump.

The Grammys host, who announced that the 2026 ceremony would be his final year hosting, has previously avoided political commentary in award shows.
