Tinubu Urges Senate to Pass 24 Health Sector Bills

President Bola Tinubu has urged the Senate to consider and pass 24 bills aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s health sector. The bills were transmitted to the Senate through a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who read it during Tuesday’s plenary session.

The proposed legislation follows a comprehensive review of existing health laws carried out by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, in collaboration with the Minister of Health and Social Welfare. Approved by the Federal Executive Council, the review seeks to streamline governance across health institutions by reducing over-bloated board memberships to improve efficiency and service delivery.
