Tinubu Condemns Attacks in Plateau and Kaduna, Pledges Justice

March 31, 2026

President Bola Tinubu has condemned recent attacks by gunmen in Plateau and Kaduna states, describing the violence as barbaric and unacceptable. The incidents, which occurred in Jos’ Angwan Rukuba district and Kahir village in Kagarko Local Government Area, left several people dead and others abducted, including wedding guests.

In a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu assured Nigerians that security agencies are working to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further attacks. He emphasized the need for accurate reporting, warning against media claims that the violence was religiously motivated.

The President commended the governors of Plateau and Kaduna states for their efforts in managing the crises and supporting rescue operations. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening security, including acquiring advanced equipment to track and combat criminals in real time. Families of victims received condolences, and the injured were wished a speedy recovery.

Tinubu directed security agencies to act proactively on early warning intelligence and called for the immediate rescue of remaining abductees from Kahir village.
