Sunday Oliseh Warns NFF Leadership Could Face Consequences if Super Eagles Miss Back-to-Back World Cups

September 2, 2025

Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has expressed concern that the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may need to reconsider their positions if the national team fails to qualify for two consecutive FIFA World Cups. Oliseh noted that missing back-to-back tournaments would be a significant setback for Nigerian football and could slow the country’s progress. With Nigeria currently fourth in Group C ahead of important qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, Oliseh acknowledged that the team still has a chance to qualify and move forward.
