Sowore Withdraws Bid to Subpoena DSS Boss in Defamation Trial

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has withdrawn his request to subpoena Department of State Services Director-General Oluwatosin Ajayi in his alleged criminal defamation trial. Sowore told the Federal High Court in Abuja that the evidence he sought could instead be presented by another DSS official, following an objection by the Attorney-General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi, who argued that the document in question was neither authored nor signed by the DSS chief.
