September 29, 2025

Vice President Kashim Shettima has pledged greater engagement of Nigerians in the diaspora in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies and developmental agenda, assuring them that their expertise and investments will be central to the nation’s progress. Speaking in New York during an interactive session with the Nigerian community on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly, Shettima urged continued faith in the Renewed Hope Agenda, citing improved macroeconomic indicators, rising foreign reserves, and youth-focused initiatives like the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, highlighted improved passport processing and the rollout of non-resident BVNs as key achievements, encouraging diaspora Nigerians to invest in the country’s transforming economy
